This presentation is a brief overview of Miscue Analysis. The last few slides of the presentation are meant to be interactive with the audience actually practicing miscue using an Over the Shoulder Miscue form and the first audio clip, and then the Classroom Procedure form with the second audio clip. I will try to scan and upload both those forms and post them soon.
In the mean time, if you want to practice doing Over the Shoulder Miscue you can make your own form by making a "T" chart with "text" on one side and "said" on the other. You will also need a copy of the text. The first audio clip is of a 5th grade student reading "When I Was Young in the Mountains" by Cynthia Rylant. When the student miscues, write the word from the text in the "text" column, and what the student said in the "said" column.
Side Note: In order to hear the audio clips I believe that you need to first download the PowerPoint. Also, in the second audio clip there is a long pause before the student begins reading - there isn't anything wrong with the audio clip, I just wasn't explicit with my directions about reading out loud. :-)
